At Abstract Space Inc. (ASI), we adopt Roger Martin’s Integrative Thinking methodology, described in his book “The Opposable Mind”, to do just this.

The methodology is focuses on our ability to think creatively and solve complex problems by integrating seemingly opposing ideas or concepts.

The core of Integrative Thinking is the recognition that complex problems often are not trade-offs between two opposing ideas, but instead require the creation of new solutions that integrate the best of both ideas.

As a result, a more Optimal Environment (OE) is formed, where:

A balance between opportunities & risks is realized

Hierarchies & inter-dependencies of the team are dissected

Organizational capabalities are stretched while maintaining integrity

Roles & responsibilities are identified & redefined
